Christos Nicolaou, CSO and Founder
Christos Nicolaou received his M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Computer Science from Florida State University in 1998 and 1996 respectively and a Teacher's Degree from the Pedagogical Academy of Cyprus in 1990. Between July 1998 and April 2005 he was with Bioreason, Inc. a US chemoinformatics start-up company, where he has been working on the design and development of knowledge-based systems and software engineering tasks. Since July 2001, as a Senior Scientist, Chemoinformatics, he was in charge of the design and development of several commercial software packages related to data mining, predictive model generation and knowledge extraction and interpretation from large databases of chemical and biological data. Christos has significant expertise in clustering and classification methods, pattern recognition, artificial neural networks, knowledge discovery and data mining and how these methods can be of use to the chemoinformatics and bioinformatics fields. He is the author of two patents and several scientific publications. He has also presented extensively (over 30 presentations) at Chemoinformatics and Life Sciences conferences. At the time Christos maintains strong links with several research groups from the Chemistry, Biology and Computer Science fields and is involved in few, select collaborations. Since 2004 Christos has been an active member of the Medical Informatics Lab of the University of Cyprus, Computer Science Department where he is also pursuing a Ph.D. with emphasis on rational drug design.
